Check Out Our Open Access Case Study Library
As teachers, administrators, policy makers, and educational researchers, we are regularly confronted with ethical dilemmas. To support ethical deliberation of these hard issues, EdEthics has developed normative case studies—short, accessible, empirically-researched cases built around everyday ethical dilemmas in education. Search through our open access library of case studies (over 40 available!) on a wide range of topics, themes, grade levels, subject matters, and contexts. These cases are downloadable and come with support materials, like facilitation guides and discussion protocols.
Join Our Online Case Discussions
Did you know that we hold monthly online case discussions, free of charge and open to all? Each session is led by one of the EdEthics' lead facilitators, with an occasional special guest appearance, and features one of our established case studies or a brand new case in the stages of 'field-testing'. Sign up for our newsletter to find out about upcoming sessions. You'll be happy you did—the community is awesome.
Case Writing Course - Learn to Write Your Own
Through this course, you will dive into the normative case study method by reading published normative case studies developed by Dr. Levinson and the teaching team, and by analyzing and participating in case discussions. You will also learn how to write your own normative case study from the ground up, that can be used to think through ethical dilemmas in your own specific educational context. Joining this cohort connects you as part of the global network of practitioners and scholars engaged with the normative case study method. Together, we’re building the field of educational ethics to make schools more just places.
Writing (books, articles, etc)
In addition to our library of case studies on justiceinschools.org, we write research papers, articles, books, and more. What are we currently working on? Multiple articles, several chapters as contributing authors, and an edited book on Framing Educational Ethics that arose from Educational Ethics: A Field-Launching Conference. Plus, we're excited to share two new global case study collections featuring cases from around the world and rich conversation by experts in the field.
